United States, Scott #5715, used(o), 2022, Celebrating United States Pony Cars, stamp shows the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302; a ‘pony car’ is an American term for a car generally that is affordable, compact, highly styled (coupe or convertible) with a ‘sporty’ or ‘performance-oriented’ image, as opposed to ‘muscle cars’ known for their powerful V-8 engines and high horsepower ratings; the first pony car was the 1964 Ford Mustang, named for a free-roaming wild horse, hence the term ‘pony cars’ for these types of cars; the Mustang Boss 302 was a follow-on to the original Mustang to counter the success of the competing Chevrolet Camaro; it was developed in secret and at Ford at the time, it was known as the boss's car, and the name stuck, the ‘302’ refers to its 302 cubic inch engine; it was produced in 1969 and 1970; In addition to upgrades under the hood, the 302 had larger front wheel wells for bigger tires, front and rear spoilers for better aerodynamics, and black matte paint on the center of the hood to reduce glare; they proved very popular; in 2007 a pair of restored 1969 Boss Mustangs sold for $530,000; issued as a forever stamp at a counter price of 60 cents, offset lithography printed by the Ashton Potter USA (APU), issued with non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, serpentine die cut simulated 10¾ perforations, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 25¢, nicely centered (superb), horizontal, black-inked, wavy line cancellation over the front of the stamp, good perforations, stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance, centering and mounting warrant a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.68 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used. If not satisfied, return the stamp to me at your own expense, and I will refund the cost, but not my postage to you. If the stamp is not as described, I will refund the cost and reimburse you for postage both ways.
