Jubilees of Pontifical Missionary Acts - souvenir booklet, contains one block MNH**
On 3 June 2022, three postage stamps worth PLN 4.50 each, of the "Jubilees of Pontifical Missionary Acts" issue, were put into circulation.
The year 2022 marks several anniversaries related to the Pontifical Missionary Acts, including the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Work for the Propagation of the Faith, the 100th anniversary of the elevation of the Work for the Propagation of the Faith, the Acts of St Peter the Apostle and the Children's Missionary Work to the rank of papal works, and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Blessed Paul Manna, founder of the Pontifical Missionary Union.
On May 22, 2022, Pauline Jaricot (1799-1862), founder of the Work for the Propagation of the Faith and the Living Rosary, will be beatified in Lyon - hence the description on the recommended stamp is already with the abbreviation "Bl."
The stamps of both designs depict the founders of the respective Acts:
1. Bishop Charles de Forbin-Janson (1785-1844) - founder of the Children's Missionary Work. French bishop who asked children to get involved in helping their peers in China.
2. Joan of Arc Bigard (1859-1934), founder of the Work of St Peter the Apostle. A lay woman who, together with her mother, cared for vocations in mission countries.
3rd Blessed Pauline Jaricot (1799-1862) - founder of the Work for the Propagation of the Faith and of the Living Rosary. A Frenchwoman who devoted her whole life, her talents and her good origins to the work of evangelisation.
The block binding also features the coat of arms/logotype of the Pontifical Missionary Works.
