Olivetti Underwood 25
The Underwood 25 is a portable typewriter, with pressure writing levers, produced by Olivetti . The Underwood Typerwriter Company is a New York company founded in 1895.
It was only in the 1960s that Olivetti, one of the largest companies in Italy, purchased the brand, which is still used today in the production of cash registers.

With this strategy, Olivetti wanted to enter the American market, incorporating its largest rival in the sector.
Just a year before the purchase of Underwood began, a great Italian designer, Ettore Sottsass Jr., began collaborating with Olivetti.
